Jared Sliger enters his third season as head volleyball coach at Northwest Nazarene University.

After a stellar recruiting season last year, coach Sliger‘s program produced the GNAC co-Freshman of the Year in Cammy Dranginis and the Crusaders finished the season 14-12 overall, including an upset of NCAA tournament-bound Central Washington University at the Johnson Sports Center in the season‘s final match.

Sliger, a 1991 graduate of NNU in English Education, returned to his alma mater in 2005 after serving as the head assistant coach at the University of Oregon from 2000 to 2002, and as an assistant at the University of Idaho from 1998 to 2000. Since returning to Nampa in the spring of 2002, he had been the athletic director and a math teacher at Nampa’s South Middle School.

Prior to beginning his collegiate coaching career, Sliger coached and served as director of the Kern River Volleyball Club in Bakersfield, California from 1992 until he left for the University of Idaho in 1998. During his tenure with the Kern River Club, Sliger guided his teams to a second place finish at the Kaeppa Volleyball Festival in Sacramento, California in the Under Sixteen division and a fifth place finish in the Under Twelve Division at the same festival.

In addition to his team coaching duties, Sliger has served as a coach at numerous camps, including the Stanford University Elite Setters Camp, and has served as the Camp Director at the University of Oregon, and the Assistant Director at the Wichita State University Volleyball Camp.

"Returning to NNU in 2005 was the culmination of a long journey for me", commented Sliger. "As I gained experience at the collegiate level, it had always been with an interest in returning to NNU to coach."
