SPOKANE, Wash - Susana Contreras led a group of nine Northwest Nazarene University student-athletes on the 2009 Great Northwest Athletic Conference Soccer Academic all-star team, announced Wednesday afternoon by the conference office.
Contreras leads the group with a 3.97 GPA, joining Kelsey Jenkins of Seattle Pacific with the highest GPA in the conference.
The NNU women's soccer team placed eight on the squad, while the men were represented by Matt Larson. Joining Contreras are Liz Gross, McKenzie Bailey, Jessie Cahill, Kim Bowen, Marie Smith, Molly Tipton, and Kendra Courcy.
Named to the team for the second-straight year for NNU were Gross, Bowen, Smith, and Courcy.
Both Crusader teams complete their 2009 season this weekend on the road, as the women face Western Washington and Seattle Pacific, while the men travel to Seattle Pacific.
