PETALUMA, Calif. - Northwest Nazarene's Dale Raybould sits in 40th place following Tuesday's second round at the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships, hosted by Sonoma State University in Petaluma, California.
Played at Adobe Creek Golf Club, Raybould fired an 82 on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,840-yard course. "Today was a bit of a struggle," commented NNU coach Craig Stensgaard. "But he is ready to go and will finish strong on Wednesday. He's had a busy week, graduating on Sunday afternoon and then the process of getting down here on Sunday night. It has been a great experience and is a fitting reward for a season-long goal that Dale has reached."
The West Regional is being held in conjunction with the Northwest Regional. The winning team in each regional earns an automatic berth to the NCAA II National Championships at Houston, Texas, on May 14-17. The next three teams in the combined West/Northwest Super Regional also qualify for at-large berths at nationals, as well as the top individual competitor not on a selected team.
